About Us » Statement of Faith

God
We believe there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory; that this triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all.

We believe in God, the Father, an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love; that He is just and merciful; that though He is transcendent, omnipotent and omniscient, He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings. We believe in His atoning death on our behalf, in His resurrection from the dead, in His ascension into heaven, in His perpetual intercession for His people and in His personal, visible return to earth. We believe that He is one and the same as God. He was fully human and fully God.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower in ministry all who believe in Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is an abiding Helper, Teacher, and Guide.

Bible
We believe that all the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, fully inspired and fully inerrant, and that they are the infallible rule of faith and practice. We believe that Jesus is the Word and the Word of God is powerful and able to transform our lives.

Salvation
We believe all people are by nature separated from God and responsible for their own sin, but that salvation, redemption, and forgiveness are available by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Holy Spirit Baptism
We believe that Jesus Christ baptizes the seeking believer with the Holy Spirit. We believe the purpose of this experience is for ministry. We believe this power from Him through the believer fills the believer to overflowing. The overflowing of the Holy Spirit is for the purpose of giving to others in a manner consistent with Jesus approach to ministry.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercise of all biblical gifts of the Spirit as reflected through the fruit of that same Spirit. We believe that decorum and order enable effective use of the gifts. We do not believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are to be used or flaunted in a way that encourages exhibitionist behavior.

Christ's Return
We believe we are to watch for and to anticipate the soon return of Christ, wherein He will take us up in the time it takes us to blink. Though a thousand years to us is only a day to Him, we believe in His soon return. We believe in the literal Second Coming of Christ with His saints to rule the earth, which will be personal and visible. We believe this biblical mindset of how history on this earth comes to a close motivates us to live holy lives, to give God heartfelt worship, to serve Him with commitment, to study His Word diligently, to fellowship with other believers regularly and to ensure that we follow Him.

Church
We believe in baptism by immersion as a marker of personal consecration unto God. We believe in regular communion to remember first things first - Jesus. We believe both of these acts of obedience are open to all believers in Jesus Christ.

We believe that the Church is a living spiritual body, of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members.

We believe the only true basis of Christian fellowship is Christ's love, walking in the light, which empowers us to forgive and to foster authentic relationship by His Spirit.

We believe that the church government should be simple and straightforward - we oppose a complex bureaucracy, and we depend on the Holy Spirit to lead, rather than on fleshly promotion.

We believe that the Bible clearly delineates that spiritual gifts are for the edification of the body and that they are to be exercised in love. We believe that love is more important than the most spectacular gifts. We believe that without love, all exercise of spiritual gifts is of no value. In our services, we focus on a personal relationship with God through worship, prayer, and the teaching of the Word of God.

Worship
We believe worship of God in the general assembly of believers should be an extension of what happens throughout the week. When we congregate we wish to give the living God his due.

We believe that worship in Spirit is dynamic, active and led by the Holy Spirit. The Biblically described inspirational expression of worship encourages the role of music to engage our mind, will and emotions to honor and to render to God a spiritual service.

We believe that worship in Truth is holding tight to Biblical integrity and remaining steady with His articulated principles. According to His Word, worship is decent, orderly and focuses on Christ.

We believe worship of God should be intelligent. As a result, our services are organized to place great emphasis upon the teaching of the Word of God. We believe His Word is alive and can train us into all paths of right living.

We believe worship of God should be fruitful; therefore, we look for His love and godliness in our lives as the supreme manifestation that we have been truly worshiping Him.
